I have been a member for about 6 weeks now and when the trout are not rising and are not interested with anything near the surface, i have had great success with the orange gold head fritz (5 Trout) always being taken on the point. Im sure the Diawl Bach in a variety of colours are awesome on the droppers to! Wink

I agree and have had success with an orange nomad though the olive green fritz nomad is my most successful. Great to see some debate at last on the forum.Cool

Hi guys, ive been trying various orange patterns myself but with no success yet….will try the nomad! Green olive seems to be the best colour, vibrating daddy on intermediate line being the most successful method. have also had a couple lately on a small white appetiser goldhead, up the top end of the lake near the broken tree!……..glad members are starting to post. I'm learning alot from other members!

Yes, the broken tree area has a good depth to stop any snagging on bottom etc and quite good space behind you for us who struggle with the back cast. Ive had a brilliant few weeks up that end with most takes/ knocks being down about 4-6 foot mainly on lures. Tried 2 dropper red diawl bach with brown mayfly on point but missed takes a few times! I think the hook is too big? or im just to slow!? Cry

Hey JJ. ive had some good days up that end of the lake aswel, wind permitting. Most fish taking small lures a few feet down aswel. Though havent had any success on dry flies yet, learning all the time though! 1 boy had 1 on a mayfly when i was there at dusk. unsure what size hook though. I'm off away now on 9th Cool…….so ul have 2 fill me in guys when i come back. Happy days, Rhys

I agree with you mike, all members need to use this website more to discuss the fishing.

Has Nant moel been stocked for the start of the 2010 season (today)?….. i am buying my permit 1 day this week hoping to go up there at the weekend.

Hope all the 2009 members are returning this year, had some great fishing there last season in all parts of the lake using all different tactics. Really cant wait to get fishing this year! Rhys

Hi Rhys hope you are finding the fishing just as good as last year, there’s plenty in there for you to catch.
