The fishing is going really well up ‘Nant Moel’ with a large number of fish being caught on CDC buzzers and beetles fished static or slow. Other successful flies have been Olive Fritz, Small Montanas, Black and Peacock and Diawl Bach. Lures still work but the fish are now turned on to their natural diet so imitative flies are better.

Nant Moel is fishing well with anglers catching fish all over, most popular flies have been the booby, black fritz tadpole, olive fritz and small black nomads. Fish are coming up in the water now due to the slight rise in temperature and the fact that they are competing for food.

We have stocked this reservoir now with 600 (300 x 2) quality rainbow trout in the past 6 weeks.

it is up to the members to comment here, however this is the start to a new season, Nant Moel has been stocked with fish from Exmoor Fishery, these fight like hell (ask any member from last year), so now is the time to purchase your permit and enjoy some local fishing at its best.

I agree with you mike, all members need to use this website more to discuss the fishing.

Has Nant moel been stocked for the start of the 2010 season (today)?….. i am buying my permit 1 day this week hoping to go up there at the weekend.

Hope all the 2009 members are returning this year, had some great fishing there last season in all parts of the lake using all different tactics. Really cant wait to get fishing this year! Rhys

i used to be a member of aadaa until a few years ago,hows it been fishing up there and is it as good as it used to be…..

Saw some great fish stocked last Thursday expected to have a!!!!. very succesful day on Saturday!!!!TYpical fishing tried everything and managed one fish alongside my fellow fisher John We appear to have exclusive use of the lake on Saturday PM great!!
Who caught 18 fish and can we be told the tactics please?
This forum needs more input and we members need to realise what a great asset we have.
